This workout is a “choose your own adventure” style workout that will get kids sweating and working hard! Each child could do their own unique workout, workouts could be completed in small groups, or an entire class could do the same workout. All you’ll need is access to a playground and one or more pairs of dice. If you are unfamiliar with the names of these exercises, a quick YouTube search should show you everything you need to know!
Instructions:
Roll a dice 4x. Each number that comes up will correspond to an exercise from one of the four categories below
Roll the dice again for each exercise to figure out how many repetitions you will be doing of that exercise
Voila: that’s your workout! Do the exercises for the required number of reps in order, over and over as many times as possible for 10 minutes. Keep track of your score and record it at the end (rounds + reps). The goal is to get through as many rounds and reps as possible, while keeping good technique!
Example:
Your first roll will determine which exercise you do.
First roll (column 1): 1 (burpees)
Second roll (column 2): 2 (lunges x 2)
Third roll (column 3): 4 (monkey bar hold x 5 seconds)
Fourth roll (column 4): 6 (plank hold x 10 seconds)
Therefore, your workout will consist of burpees, lunges, a monkey bar hold, and a plank hold.
Your second set of rolls will determine the number of repetitions for each exercise.
First roll: 6 (ie. 6 burpees)
Second roll: 3 (ie. 6 lunges)
Third roll: 2 (ie. monkey bar hold for 10 seconds)
Fourth roll: 4 (plank hold for 40 seconds)
Therefore, one round will be: 6 burpees + 6 lunges + 10s monkey bar hold + 40s plank hold.
Try to get as many rounds in as possible during your 10 minute workout!
