Plant Line Up!

The goal of this game is to describe a plant so well that your partner can find the culprit using just your description. This activity is designed to improve students’ observational skills and their written descriptions in a fun place-based way!

Find a partner to work with.

Partner A will go outside and find a plant “suspect” They will observe it very closely and record their observations in a journal being as specific as possible.

Record things like

  • The size.

  • The shape of the leaves.

  • The smell

  • The colour

  • Any Interesting features

  • The texture

When partner A has finished their description they will pass it to Partner B. Partner B will now go outside and try to locate Partner A’s plant suspect. Once the plant has been successfully located partners A and B will swap roles.

Have fun!
