Can the sun make art? This activity will get students thinking about how and why the ultraviolet light causes colours to fade. Students will head outside on the morning of a very sunny day and find 2 - 3 leaves or flowers outside. They need to get creative and think about how they want to place the leaves on the construction paper. In order for this art activity to be successful, there needs to be one rock or other dense item placed on each item. Leave the project outside under direct sunlight for a full day. Check back in the evening and voila! Your items are imprinted onto your paper like shadows.
